About Mary

Empowering seniors to maintain independence through compassionate care and reliable transportation.

About Me

I have always enjoyed interacting with the older generations. I find them to be interesting, having lived in times that were difficult and far removed from the many gadgets that make our lives comparatively easy. I love their ability to adapt and make do. When I retired, I missed the interaction with them and started working with an organization that rendered in-home assistance to those still living at home, but needing help with daily tasks.

My Experience

I spent 3 years working in a Care Facility for frail seniors and Alzheimer’s sufferers. Although I worked in administration, I loved chatting with them all. I became a carer/companion to an Alzheimer’s patient and worked every third week in her home for close to 2 years, until she was placed in a special home. Since then, I have become aware of the need for seniors who can no longer drive but need to go for appointments. I feel it’s a role I can fulfill and help people maintain their independence longer.
